======================================================= SUN: Bad Boot Block ======================================================= :Title: SUN: Bad Boot Block :Author: Douglas O'Leary :Description: SUN: Bad Boot Block :Date created: 08/2001 :Date updated: 09/2001 :Disclaimer: Standard: Use the information that follows at your own risk. If you screw up a system, don't blame it on me... Error indication: You receive the following message on boot:: Boot device: /sbus@40,0/QLGC,isp@1,10000/sd@3,0 File and arges: -s The file just loaded does not appear to be executable. NOTE: The sbus and QLGC numbers may differ, but the syntax should be roughly the same. To fix: Boot off the cdrom, then execute:: /usr/sbin/installboot/usr/platform/`uname -i`/lib/fs/ufs/bootblk \ /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0 NOTE: Ensure you have back tics on the uname -i and that the disk that you're executing this on is the boot disk (check the boot device via OBP to verify).
