God! I hate modems!
Now that that's out of the way, I've wrestled with modems under AIX, Linux, and HPUX. Linux, for the most part, is fairly easy and well documented through the HOW-TOs. AIX, I haven't touched in years, so that's going to wait. I've wrestled with modems three times on HPUX and had to call in help all three times. This is getting embarrassing!
So, this doc is a cheat sheet of things to check out before I call in the next batch of help
Things to check in no particular order
- Modem configuration.
- 3com modem cmds
- Others as I run into them
- Configuring HPUX for Peripherals
- On L classes in particular, verify the GSP settings:
- Session setting on the remote port
- CCITT protocol is removed.
-
- More as time permits
