HPUX 10.X¶
Prerequisites:
Have a volume group created (vg## will be used in this example)
Have a logical volume created (lvol## will be used in this example):
# newfs /dev/vg##/rlvol##
HPUX 9.X¶
Prerequisites:
Have a volume group created (Vg will be used in this example)
Have a logical volume created (Lv will be used in this example.
Steps:
Identify the disk type on which the filesystem will reside:
lvdisplay -v Lv | grep dsk | sort | uniq
diskinfo /dev/rdsk/DISK_DRIVER
Note the product id number in the display.
newfs /dev/Vg/rLv PRODUCT_NUMBER
Ensure you use the raw device driver in the diskinfo and newfs commands.
Mount the directory in the place of your choosing.
